The TITAN® N-85 SCR2 Digital Tankless Water Heater features a fast, accurate temperature sampling system, a resettable thermostat, & an air/water deferential analyzing system to prevent dry starts (a key problem for other tankless systems).
By heating only when needed, the SCR2 can reduce hot water costs up to 60% over other electric water heaters, due in part to a microprocessor that samples input & output temperatures 21 times a second. This power control system manages power usage for max efficiency & temperature stability. It even powers off at rest. In some cases, energy saving can even make up the unit cost in a year or less.
Due to shielded heating elements & a copper & brass casing, the SCR2 is ideal anywhere mineral deposits shorten the life of a conventional water heater. The SCR2 comes with a 10 year warranty on all water-carrying components & a one year warranty for all other parts. With a compact size & no vent requirements, you can quickly & easily install almost anywhere.

How long does the water take to get hot enough to take a shower?
The water passing through the heater gets hot instantly. The time will be determined by the distance the water must travel. (Ex. If the unit is 20 feet from the point of use, the water in the pipe between the unit and the point of use must be removed first so it would get there approx. 20 seconds after the water is turned on, but after that you will enjoy endless hot water, even if Mom starts the washing machine, Dad decides to soak in the tub, and Sis needs to wash her hair.)
Can a traditional heater be replaced with a tankless heater with no additional plumbing or electrical work?
This unit is easier and less cumbersome to install than a conventional water heater, requiring one line in from the main and one line out to the house (same as a conventional water heater). Any licensed plumber can perform the installation. A licensed electrician is needed if there is no existing 220 volt outlet. Make sure to get all necessary permits and that everything is up to code.
